Outpatient Procedure Growth

Analysis on the number of procedures performed at 1,474 Ambulatory Surgery Centers over the past three years supports industry talk of continued growth in the outpatient market.  Procedure volume growth from 2009 to 2011 at these facilities rose at a rate of 8.74%.

Additional analysis reveals that while only 15% of ASC's are corporately owned, that portion of facilities accounts for 25% of total procedure volume in the market, with ASC Corporations owning 34 facilities on average.
