Atlanta, GA October 13, 2008 Billian's HealthDATA has enhanced their online Hospital and database solution offering and continues to provide their customers' with meticulously researched, cutting-edge market intelligence ensuring that the customers have the most current information to guide informed decisions.

BHD's newest addition is a database product derived from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Medpar files. It includes data elements such as Diagnosis Related Group (DRG), International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT). This new data can be licensed as an addition to the Hospital Database, or as a stand-alone product. The procedure data can be used as a vital tool in focusing marketing or sales strategies on facilities that perform specialized procedures requiring specific equipment or services. Included with the DRG, ICD-9, and CPT information is the number of patient claims by procedure, average length of patient stay (days), and Medicare cost and reimbursement figures for each procedure. Data derived from state health agencies is highly accurate, but collection and cost identifiers differs from state to state. The advantage of using CMS data is that information is collected and calculated on a national level, and on a quarterly basis, providing the most accurate and up to date information possible.
