A recent announcement by the Joint Commission that it will revamp its hospital quality-measurement
system due to the fact that “many of the metrics currently used to assess quality of hospital care
fail to provide true and valuable accountability,” according to
MedpageToday.com,
serves to emphasize the great importance that accurate data plays in all segments of the healthcare
industry.
Billian's HealthDATA strives to provide customers with the most accurate database of
healthcare contacts and facilities across the continuum of care. Information is updated on a daily
basis via a five-stage research, verification and quality assurance process.

"Customers judge Billian's HealthDATA first and foremost on the depth and accuracy of
information we provide," says Don Graham, the firm's general manager. "The contact information we
provide around the c-suite of hospital executives is the most frequently used data in our
products."
The company recently completed the first phase of its annual data quality evaluation project,
measuring accuracy of contacts published for the five most common titles accessed in the Billian's
HealthDATA Portal - hospital CEO, CFO, CIO, CMO and CNO contacts. Porter Research, a primary market
research firm specializing in the healthcare industry, and integrated partner of Billian's
HealthDATA, was contracted to lead the review.
The project team conducted a review of more than 400 facilities randomly selected from
Billian's HealthDATA's list of nearly 7,000 hospitals, yielding a margin of error of five percent
at the ninety-fifth percent confidence level - the benchmark for typical research. Results
indicated a high degree of accuracy - nearly 97 percent of the contacts on file were correct.
"My expectations were met in that I know we provide an accurate and constantly updated
directory of c-level decision makers in the hospital environment," says Joyce Metzer, Director of
Research and Data Quality. "We will continue to provide our customers with the most accurate
information available on the industry."
