Don't Let Initial Training Be the Only Training

Initial training is critical to any company, or individual, that implements a new application,
device, or tool into their work environment or daily lives. However, after initial training, people
often become frustrated because they aren't automatically proficient in using the new tool. More
often than not, users quit the application before learning how to use it to its fullest potential.
Time is money, and learning a new software application via the trial-by-fire method is rarely at
the top of anyone's to do list.
Individuals will never forget their own mistakes, but can easily forget instruction and
advice from others. During
Portal training sessions for
new and existing users, Billian's HealthDATA always encourages users to log in and play around
after the training session ends. New users should try to build reports, find facilities and run
searches.
It would be interesting to travel back in time and see how these same individuals felt when
they first used Microsoft Word, Excel, or even the Internet itself. Perfection was most likely not
reached the first time they used each of these products. Anyone can be shown how to use a new tool,
but until a person actually tries it out, they will never truly master it. As with any software
application, the best training advice Billian's HealthDATA can give is to use the Portal as much as
possible until the user is comfortable with it; if mistakes occur, knowledgeable account reps are
always there to provide guidance.
Billian's HealthDATA offers general training sessions for current users several times a
month. Each session covers a different portion of the Portal such as: Hospitals and Hospital IT;
Hospital Systems; Long Term Care; IDNs; GPOs, etc.
Need a quick refresher? Please register via the Portal dashboard for one of these sessions
and use what is learned afterward to realize the Portal's full marketing potential. Armed with a
better understanding of how to make your marketing tools work more efficiently will ultimately lead
to more qualified leads and closed sales. After all, time is money.
